  The song Panic in the Streets was debuted in January 2005 on a cold, snowy night at the Canal Club in Richmond, VA. It was the first show of the new year and the start of a nine-week tour that took the band across the entire country. Written by Tom Hamilton, Panic in the Streets was notable at the time for its indie rock influences. BROTHERS PAST was heavily influenced at the time by artists such as Interpol, Arcade Fire and Broken Social Scene -- Panic in the Streets is one of several songs spawned by those influences. At the time, the song was intended to be recorded for the next record, however the band spent the majority of 2005 on the road and those sessions never materialized.
  
  For this month’s live release, we dug deep into the vaults to find a gem of a show from Jake’s Roadhouse in Decatur, GA (07/14//02.) After touring the mid-Atlantic area for a couple of years and building a little buzz, BROTHERS PAST embarked on its first true tour during the summer of 2002: a two-week jaunt down to South Florida. The run had several great shows, but this one was notable for several reasons: it was a three-setter , parts of which were broadcast over the Atlanta airwaves on Jeff Dunham’s radio show Meet the Dunhams. By the time the third set had ended, several people had driven to the club to check out in person the band they were hearing over the airwaves. There are lots of great memories from that tour, but one of our favorites is the Utopiary Window from this show, when we brought the 15 kids on tour with us up to the stage for an improptu dance party. This show isn’t perfect by any means. There are some flubbed notes and some shaky vocals, but it’s the sound of band learning its craft and we couldn’t be happier to share it with you.
